Geek of the week and Avalanche Safety...

Well, since my last post it just hasn't stopped snowing, the snowpack has gone from 209 to 240! After all this storm snow the helicopter came in and spent over an hour bombing our avalanche terrain today (Wild West, Delirium Dive, South Side Chutes).  It managed to clear Cream to ground and a huge section of Milky way also slipped away down into Sugar bowl...creating two substantial size 2.5 avalanches.  There were also natural slides in Eagle Basin, and when you look around you can see slides on a lot of the surrounding peaks..this is indicative of the rising temperatures altering the snow pack and solar heat melting south facing cornices..very technical stuff.  Anywho, me and a few others from the crew were working on upper this afternoon which meant that we were able to get a cheeky  lap in the dive after they had finished bombing.. which was real nice as no one has been in there for days due to snow storms..hopefully tomorrow we can get back in and help Snow safety in their efforts to open the galaxy ridge.

Below is my basic attempt at helping people get a grasp at the area's I've been talking about within the Delirium Dive, there are many more lines and area's within this terrain, but I figured this would be enough for those who don't know.  Hope it helps.

In addition, I was awarded employee of the month for March and went for a sweet meal with my boss 'jasper' last Friday.  Needless to say we took full advantage of the buffet and free wine :)  It was definitely a fun time. Oooo and I now have a moustache..ha
