Goodbye Bishop...

The time has come, after the usual first week that seems to go relatively slowly, the following weeks have flown by and we are all trashed.  The fingers are thin and sore, constant emery board action has prevented any major flappers and recent trips to the hot springs have soothed muscles, but even so..were all taking the next three days off.

The Pollen Grains
Yesterday marked our final climb day and what a 'send' off it was (see what I did there).  We headed up to the Pollen Grains, a select few boulders round the back of Buttermilks main area that hosts a couple of the area's  best high ball problems (Jedi Mind Tricks and Suspended in Silence).  The Pollen Grains with a relatively minor approach seemed to be a different world compared the popular main area.  The bush is bigger and more lush and the boulders are surrounded by minor granite crags and tree's...it's really nice and a shame that we only headed up there on our final day.

So all in all it was an awesome finale and we've all enjoyed Bishop it's bouldering, hot springs, sunshine and Eric Schats Bakkery.  To top it off I managed to dispatch my end of trip project in the evening, making the most of cooler temps.  Next stop is Yosemite, via a few days camping at Lake Tahoe.  So bring on some rest days to prepare for the valley.

  1. Say hi to Yosemite for me! I met some of George's friends when I was in Joes, I'm sure they will be sad to hear that you guys aren't going to be making a stop.
